BARNADESIA, in botany; a genus of the polygamia equalis order, belonging to the syngenesia class of plants; the characters of which are: The corolla is radiated; the calyx is naked, imbricated, and pungent; the pappus of the rays feathery, of the disk brittle and retrofracted. There is but one species, the spinosa, a native of America.
