CHRYSES, the priests of Apollo, father of Asynome, called from him Chrysis. When Lynneus was taken and the spoils divided among the conquerors, Chrysis fell to the share of Agamemnon. Chrysis upon this went to the Grecian camp to solicit his daughter's restoration; and when his prayers were fruitless, he implored the aid of Apollo, who visited the Greeks with a plague, and obliged them to restore Chrysis.
