CALENBERG, a castle of Germany, in the duchy
of Brunswick and principality of Calenberg. It is seated
on the river Leine, and is 15 miles south of Hanover.
It is subject to the duke of Brunswick Lunenburg, elec-
tor of Hanover, and king of Great Britain. E. Long.
