CANALIE, a town of France, in Upper Brittany, by the sea-side, where there is a road. Here the British landed in 1758, in their way to St Maloes, where they burnt a great number of ships in the harbour, and then retired without loss. This town was in their power; but they acted like generous enemies, and did no hurt to this nor any other on the coast. W. Long, o. 13. N. Lat. 48. 41.
