DENTELLA, in botany: A genus of the mo-
nogynia order, belonging to the pentandria class of
plants. The calyx is a five-parted perianthium, with
small subulate leaves; the lamina five short subu-
lated filaments; the antheræ small; the pericarpium
a globular, bilocular capsule; the seeds egg-shaped,
and very numerous.
