COLUMBARIA (anc. geog.), an island like a rock on the west of Sicily, opposite to Drepanum; said by Zonaras to have been taken from the Carthaginians by Numerius Fabius the consul. Now Columbara, with a very strong and almost impregnable citadel (Cluverius).
