DRYDIS, in botany: A genus of the trigynia order, belonging to the pentandria class of plants; and in the natural method ranking under the 22d order, Caryophyllae. The calyx is quinquedentated; the petals five; the opening at the capsule as if cut round horizontally, monospermous.
