ELL, a measure of length, different in different countries: but those mostly used are the English and Flemish ells; whereof the former is three feet nine inches, or one yard and a quarter; and the latter only 27 inches, or three quarters of a yard. In Scotland, the ell contains 37\frac{1}{2} English inches.
