FRODSHAM, a town of Cheshire in England, 162 miles from London, is noted for its ancient castle. It has a stone-bridge over the river Weaver near its conflux with the Mersey, and a harbour for ships of good burden. By the late inland navigation, it has communication with the rivers Dee, Ribble, Ouse, Trent, Darwent, Severn, Humber, Thames, Avon, &c. which navigation, including its windings, extends above 500 miles, in the counties of Lincoln, Nottingham, York, Lancaster, Westmoreland, Stafford, Warwick, Leicester, Oxford, Worcester, &c.
