FIBRARIUM, a class of fossils, naturally and essentially simple, not inflammable nor soluble in water; and composed of parallel fibres, some shorter, others longer; their external appearance being bright, and in some degree transparent; add to this, that they never give fire with steel, nor ferment with or are soluble in acid menstrua.
