HUMBER, a river formed by the Trent, Ouse, Derwent, and several other streams. By the late inland navigation, it has a communication with the rivers Mersey, Dee, Ribble, Severn, Thames, Avon, &c. which navigation, including its windings, extends above 500 miles, in the counties of Lincoln, Nottingham, York, Lancaster, Westmoreland, Chester, Stafford, Warwick, Leicesters, Oxford, Worcester. It divides Yorkshire from Lincolnshire, and falls into the German ocean near Holderness.
