HYDROLEA, in botany: A genus of the digynia order, belonging to the pentandria class of plants; and in the natural method ranking with those of which the order is doubtful. The calyx is pentaphyllous; the corolla rotaceous; the filaments at the base are cordate; the capsule is bilocular and bivalved.
