LEBADEA, or LEBBADIA, an ancient town of Bœotia, on the borders of Phœcis, situated between Helicon and Chæronea, near Coronæa. In it stood the oracle of Jupiter Trophonius, which whoever went to consult, descended into a subterraneous gulf.
