INTERCATIA (anc. geog.), a town of the Vacæci in the Hither Spain. Here Scipio Æmilius slew a champion of the barbarians in single combat; and was the first who mounted the wall in taking the town. It was situated to the south-east of Asturica; now said to be in ruins.
