ISAURIA, a country touching Pamphylia and Cilicia on the north, rugged and mountainous, situated almost in mount Taurus, and taking its name from Isaura; according to some, extending to the Mediterranean by a narrow strip. Stephanus, Ptolemy, and Zosimus, make no mention of places on the sea; though Pliny does,

does, as also Strabo; but doubtful, whether they are places in Isauria Proper, or in Pamphylia, or in Cilicia.
