MATRONA, (anc. geog.), a river separating Galia Celtica from the Belgica (Cesar.) Now the Marne; which, rising in Champaign near Langres, runs north-west, and then west, and passing by Meaux falls into the Seine at Charenton, two leagues to the east of Paris.
