NOBILIARY, in literary history, a book containing Nobility. taining the history of the noble families of a nation or province: such are Chorier's Nobiliary of Dauphine, and Caumartin's Nobiliary of Provence. The Germans are said to be particularly careful of their Nobiliaries, in order to keep up the dignity of their families.
