NONNIUS, or NONIUS (Lewis,) a learned physician of Antwerp in the 17th century, wrote several works which are esteemed; the principal of which are, 1. An excellent treatise intitled Icthyophagia, sive de Piscium usu. 2. Hispania; which is of great use in understanding the ancient geography of Spain. 3. A commentary on the medals of Greece, and those of Julius Cæsar, Augustus, and Tiberius, in folio; it contains Goltzius's two words on the same subject. 4. A commentary on Goltzius's account of Greece, the islands, &c. 5. Poems, &c.
