PRESIDIAL, was a tribunal, or bench of judges, established (before the Revolution) in the several considerable cities of France, to judge ultimately, or in the last resort, of the several causes brought before them by way of appeal from the subaltern judges. The presidials made one company with the officers of the bailiwages and seneschauvres, where they were established.
