SHERARDIA, in botany: A genus of the monogynia order, belonging to the tetrandria class of plants; and in the natural method ranking under the 47th order, Stellata. The calyx is small, quadricentate; the corolla monopetalous, long, and funnel-shaped. The two seeds are naked, and crowned with the calyx. There are three species, viz. 1. Arvenis; 2. Muralis; 3. Fruticosa.
