VARRONIA, in botany: A genus of plants belonging to the class of pentandria, and to the order of monogynia; and arranged in the natural system under the 41st order, Asperifoliae. The corolla is quinquefid; the fruit a drupa, with a quadrilocular kernel. There are six species; none of which are natives of Britain.
