ORDER I. The PRIMATES have four incisors, or fore-teeth, in each jaw, and one dog-tooth. N. B. By one dog-tooth, Linnæus means one on each side of the fore-teeth in both jaws.—This order includes four genera, viz. Homo, Simia, Lemur, Vespertilio.
