TRAJAN (Marcus Ulpius), a celebrated Roman emperor, who gained many victories over the Parthians and Germans, pushing the empire to its utmost extent on the east and north sides. He died at Silinunte, a city of Cilicia, which from him was called Trojanopolis, in the year 117.
