SCOPOLIA, in botany: A genus of the octandria order, belonging to the gynandria class of plants; and in the natural method ranking under the 11th class, Sarmentacea. The calyx is diphyllous; the corolla quadripartite; the antheræ coalesce in two columns, one placed above the other. Of this there is only one species, viz. the Composita.
