RHEXIA, in botany: A genus of the monogynia order, belonging to the octandria class of plants; and in the natural method ranking with those of the 17th order, Calycanthæa. The calyx is quadrifid with four petals inserted into it; the antheræ are declining; the capsule is quadrilocular, within the belly of the calyx.
