IMAGINARY ROOTS of an equation, are those roots or values of the unknown quantity, which contain some imaginary quantity. Thus, the roots of the equation $xx\; +\; aa\; =\; 0$, are the two imaginary quantities $\backslash pm\backslash sqrt\{-aa\}$ and $\backslash pm\backslash sqrt\{-aa\}$, or $\backslash pm\; a\backslash sqrt\{-1\}$ and $\backslash mp\; a\backslash sqrt\{-1\}$.
