ELLIPOMACROSTYLA, an old term in Natural History, from the Greek, ἔλλειπες imperfect, μακρὸς long, and στήλος a column; which expresses an imperfect crystal with a long column, one end of the column being affixed to some solid body, and composed of thin and slender hexangular columns, terminated by hexangular pyramids.
