PORTO-Seguro, a government of South America, on

the eastern coast of Brazil; bounded on the north by the government of Rio-dos-Hilios, on the east by the North sea, on the south by the government of Spiritu-Santo, and on the west by the Tupicks. It is a very fertile country, and the capital town is of the same name. It is built on the top of a rock, at the mouth of a river, on the coast of the North sea, and is inhabited by Portuguese. W.
