APODOSIS, in Rhetoric, makes the third part of a complete exordium, being properly the application or restriction of the protaxis. The apodosis is the same with what is otherwise called axiosis; and stands opposed to protaxis: e. g. protaxis, all branches of history are necessary for a student; catecense, so that, without these, he can never make any considerable figure;
