ALKADARIJ, a sect among the Mahometans who deny any eternal, fixed, divine decrees, and are assertors of free-will. The word is formed from the Arabic alkadar, which signifies "decrees." The Alkadarij are a branch of Motazalites, and stand opposed to the Algiabarij. See ALGIABARIJ.
