PAPA, a small but strong town of Lower Hungary, in the county of Veszprin. It was taken from the Turks in 1683, after raising the siege of Vienna, and is subject to the house of Austria. It is seated on a mountain, near the river Marchaez, in E. Long. 18. 10. N. Lat. 47. 20.
