CLARI APOLLINIS FANUM (Strabo, Pliny), a temple and grove of Apollo, situated between Colophon and Lebedos, in Ionia; called Claros (Thucydides, Ovid). The name also of a town and mountain there (Nicander); and of a fountain (Clemens Alexandrinus), the waters of which inspired with prophetic fury. Clarius the epithet of Apollo (Strabo).
