ROSKILD, a town of Denmark, in the isle of Zealand, with a bishop's see and a small university. It is famous for a treaty concluded here in 1658; and in the great church there are several tombs of the kings of Denmark. It is seated at the bottom of a small bay, in E. Long. 12. 6. N.
