FOREMAST of a SHIP, a large round piece of Foremast, Forst. timber, placed in her fore part or fore-castle, and carrying the fore-sail and fore-top-sail yards. Its length is usually of the main-mast, and the fore-top-gallant-mast is the length of the fore-top.
