GAULANITIS, or GAULONITIS (Josephus); in Ancient Geography, according to the different manner of writing the capital, Gaulian or Gaulon; the extreme part of Bathan to the south, and bordering on the tribe of Gad. It was divided into the Superior, which to the east extended to Arabia; and into the Inferior, which lay on the lake of Genesareth, (Josephus).
