HALESWORTH, a town of Suffolk in England, seated on a neck of land between two branches of the river Bith, 101 miles from London. It has a trade in linen-yarn and sail-cloth, one large church, and in 1801 about 1600 inhabitants. About the town is raised a great deal of hemp. E. Long. 1. 29. N. Lat. 52. 21.
