GUAXACA, the capital town of the above province, with a bishop's see. It is without walls, and does not contain above 2000 inhabitants; but it is rich, and they make very fine sweet-meats and chocolates. It has several rich convents, both for men and women. W. Long. 97. 40. N. Lat. 17. 10.
