HELMINTHOLITHUS, in Natural History, a name given by Linnæus to petrified bodies resembling worms.

Of these he reckons four genera. 1. Petrified rhophyta. 2. Petrified shells. 3. Petrified zoophytes. 4. Petrified reptiles.
