MOULTON, South, on the same stream, 182 miles from London. This, as well as the former, was anciently royal demesne. It sent members to parliament in the reign of Edward I. consists of a mayor, 18 capital burgesses, a recorder, town clerk, and 2 sergeants at mace. Its chief manufactures are serges, shalloons, and felts; and a considerable market for wool.
