ANTINOEIA, in antiquity, annual sacrifices, and
quinquennial games, in memory of Antinous the Bithy-
nian. They were instituted at the command of Adrian,
the Roman emperor, at Mantinea, in Arcadia, where
Antinous was honoured with a temple and divine wor-
ship.
