APINA, or Apinæ, a town of Apulia, built by Diomedes, as was also Tricæ (Pliny). Apinæ and Tricæ is a proverbial saying for things trifling and of no value (Martial); and Apinarii was the appellation for triflers or buffoons, (Trebellius Pollio).
