DRIVERS, among sportsmen, a machine for driving pheasant pouts, consisting of good strong osier wands, such as the basketmakers use; these are to be set in a handle, and twisted or bound with small osiers in two or three places. With this instrument the sportsman drives whole eyes of young pouts into his nets. See the next article.
