CHOLEDUCHUS, in Anatomy, a term applied to a canal or duct, called also ductus communis; formed of the union of the porus biliarus and ductus cysticus. The word comes from χολες, choles: and δύσπασαι, I receive, or contain.

The choledochus ductus, passing obliquely to the lower end of the duodenum, serves to convey the bile from the liver to the intestines. See ANATOMY INDEX.
