MATRONA, in Ancient Geography, a river separating Gallia Cætica from the Belgica (Cæsar). Now the Marne; which, rising in Champagne near Langres, runs north-west, and then west, and passing by Meaux falls into the Seine at Charenton, two leagues to the east of Paris.
