AGGREGATE, in a general sense, denotes the sum of several things added together, or the collection of them into one whole. Thus a house is an aggregate of stones, wood, mortar, &c. It differs from mixed or compound; for, in the latter, the union is more intimate than between the parts of an aggregate.
