ALSFELD, a town of Germany, in the landgravate of Hesse Cassel, ten miles north-west of Marburg, containing 3020 inhabitants. It is an ancient town, and well built; and the inhabitants were the first of this country who embraced the Reformation. E. Long. 9. 5. N. Lat. 50. 40.
