FULDA, a considerable town of Germany, in the circle of the Upper Rhine, and in the Buchow, with a celebrated abbey; whose abbot was primate of the abbeys of the empire, perpetual chancellor of the emperor, and sovereign of this small territory, which is now chiefly included in the dominions of Hesse Cassel.
