QUEDLINGBURG, a town of Germany, in the circle of Upper Saxony, now belonging to Prussia. Hers is a famous abbey, whose abbess was a princess of the empire, and sent deputies to the diets. Her contingent was one horseman and ten footmen. The inhabitants of the town live by brewing, husbandry, and feeding of cattle. It is 10 miles south-east of Halberstadt, and 32 west of Bernberg. E.
