CASSEL, a town of French Flanders, in the department of the North. It contains 3600 inhabitants, and is seated on a mountain; and from whence there is one of the finest prospects in the world; for one may see no less than 32 towns, with a great extent of the sea, from whence it is distant 15 miles.
