KERATOPHYTUM, in Natural History, a species of GORGONIA.—The keratophyta have been called the frutices coralloides, or sea shrubs; and are generally known among naturalists by the different appellations of lithophyto, lithoxyla, and keratophyta.—See GORGONIA, HELMINTHOLOGY Index.
